Thanksgiving Night in Brooklyn: Unforgettable Show Supports Youth Through Music and Technology

image

NEW YORK — Thanksgiving night in Brooklyn promises more than turkey and football as Freshly Pressed and Import/Export team up to host a benefit show for Willie Mae Rock Camp. The event, taking place at h0L0 in Ridgewood, will bring together local and international electronic music talent to raise funds for the nonprofit, which supports girls and gender-expansive youth through music, technology, and STEM education.

The headliner, Magda, a Detroit-born electronic music artist now based in Poland, has earned international acclaim for her experimental approach to house and techno. Joining her on the lineup are New York-based performers Devoye and J. Richards of Import/Export and Vivian Wang and Asha Jasz of Freshly Pressed. Wang and Jasz, co-founders of Freshly Pressed, are known for curating events that highlight underrepresented voices in electronic music.

The venue, h0L0, is a community-centric space known for its support of experimental music and diverse performers. Situated in the heart of Ridgewood, h0L0 has become a staple of New York’s electronic music scene, providing a welcoming environment for both established and emerging artists.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Willie Mae 2025 Rock Camp program, which encourages young people to explore their creativity and develop leadership skills through music and technology. The program is named after Willie Mae “Big Mama” Thornton, the pioneering blues artist recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Thornton’s legacy as a trailblazer for women in music continues to inspire the camp’s mission.

Tickets for the event can be purchased online through Resident Advisor, which will donate half of all ticketing fees directly to the fundraiser. Attendees can also make additional contributions through the platform.

Taking cutting-edge beats and sharing with a strong community to benefit youth  while celebrating creativity and innovation is the mission for this Thanksgiving. Immerse yourself in a night of creativity and inspiration.
